The Silk Tour
For those who want to know the ancient culture of the Khmer Empire !
Cambodia, a country rich in history, culture and natural beauty! Our tour takes you to discover two precious sites in the peripheral region of Phnom Penh.
Our first stop is the guided tour of the Prek Bong Kong Buddhist pagoda. This pagoda is a sacred site in the region, with its colorful buildings and unusual statues. Through these ones you can learn the story of Buddha, ancient Khmer legends as well as Buddhist traditions and ancestral knowledge.
Finally, we will go to a silk workshop, where you can learn all about the production of Cambodian silk. You will learn about the different stages of silk making, from raising the worms to dyeing and weaving the threads. You can also see local artisans working on their looms. Afterwards, try it yourself !
The know-how of craftsmen and the Theravada Buddhism thrived since the 13th century and survived to the Khmer Rouge regime.
